A trip to the range, San Juan Mountain style. A denim shirt, a driver, and a little room among the sagebrush. In Southwest Colorado, even a practice session has a sense of occasion.

One session. A sense of place.

The preparation, the swing, the finish—and the landscape that makes it unmistakably Colorado.

03 / Behind the concept

A familiar game. A different range.

This self-directed campaign concept places a familiar golf ritual in the open country of the San Juan Mountains. The idea begins with a simple turn of phrase, then lets the scale of the landscape, the weather, and the golfer’s Western clothing give it character.

The work moves from original photography to a complete social sequence, showing how one idea can become a family of images for a golf or destination campaign.
